Our colleague and friend, Upper School Assistant Principal for Academics Christine Koniezhny, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, after a courageous battle with ALS.

Christine was a gifted teacher, educator, and leader, as well as a steady presence, a generous colleague, and a beloved member of the Friends School community. Over 18 years, she shared her wisdom and humor with countless students as a French teacher and later supported the growth of her colleagues as an academic leader. Those who knew her were shaped by her insight, her high standards, and her quiet, devoted support.

In her memory, gifts to support Friends School Foreign Language Trips will help extend the learning she championed beyond the classroom, giving students the opportunity to experience language, culture, and connection in meaningful ways.
