Estate Planning, What You Should Know - Wednesday, November 18, 12:00 PM - Portia Wood, Esq '02, Partner at Wood Legal Group, LLP, named Top 40 under 40 by the National Black Lawyers Association for the past four years, will discuss important elements of estate planning and financial strategy. Portia's firm specializes in comprehensive estate planning, child guardianship planning, trust administration, and probate litigation. Her passion is working with young families. This session is for all ages - "Everyone over the age of 18 needs an estate plan but you don't need the same estate plan," Portia says. She will take questions and the end of the session.

Kristin Fuhrmann-Simmons ‘92, Visual Storyteller, Digital Media Advisor; Faculty Member, Tourism & Hospitality Dept at University of Southern Maine joins us for our first installment of this series to talk about creating community in a digital world, in meetings, on social media, and beyond. Kristin will also take questions at the end of the session.

Kristin is known for her down-to-earth teaching style and her passion for marketing and media training. Her clients include auto dealerships, banks, health non-profits, inns, restaurants, and travel industry professionals. Companies she works with include The Belize Tourism Board, AAA Horizons, Matador Network, The New Worlder, The Walt Disney World Radio Podcast, Arundel Ford, Amplify Additive, Cayman Luxury Excursions, and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Psychotherapist, and 2020 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient, join us to talk about coping with our new reality through self-care, structure, and connection. Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Speaker Series

The series will kick off on Sunday, November 8 with Rosetta Lee. Rosetta is a highly-regarded national expert in the fields of diversity, inclusion, equity, and others. Rosetta’s expertise is strengthened by maintaining a connection to the classroom (teaching at Seattle Girls School) through collaboration with faculty and by working with students as often as possible.
